D-Day 75th Anniversary

Normandy France, 2019. 75 years after the D-Day invasion, the region is celebrating an important jubilee; the last opportunity for WWII American veterans to visit due to their age. I had the pleasure of meeting three, two of which are featured here. Each year millions of people from around the world visit this area with hundreds, if not a few thousand from Western Europe going the extra mile to honor those that liberated France. They dress and live as American soldiers of that time even driving the very vehicles that were used in WWII. In addition to the celebration, I wanted to capture the landscape as Normandy has beautiful hills overlooking the sea permanently shaped by the battle that happened almost a century ago.
